Working as a Pocketnest intern week 7:August 3rd-August 9th
Are you a creative, stuck in a creative funk? Here are some tips to get out of it, and ways to get inspired and motivated again.
Tip #1: Surround yourself with creatives
I feel that when I surround myself with creative people or I am in a creative environment, I feel more inspired. I think that looking at others creative ways of thinking, or their work can really help motivate you to do something of your own. Being in a creative environment or a brand new environment can also help.
Tip #2:Relax-Daydream
Relaxing or daydreaming can help create new thoughts. Being in a busy state of mind can really cause stress and create a barrier in creative thinking. I like to lay down and listen to music and just think. I also love long car rides where I can stare out the window for a long period of time and new thoughts come around.
Tip #3:Do something different in your routine
I think mixing up the routine can help get your creative flow going. Whenever I get stuck too far into a deep routine, I start to feel boring, and very uncreative. Even a small change in your routine can spark some creativity into your mind! I like to switch up what I do on the daily to get somewhat of a new experience each day, and to keep my creative mind flowing. For some people, getting out of their daily routine might be a challenge. Think about it as a way to learn something new everyday, and a small growing experience.
Tip#4: Listen to new music/watch new a new movie
Similar to getting out of a daily routine, I think that listening to new music or watching a new movie can help others feel inspired and get out of a creative funk. Music and films seem to be my go-to when it comes to feeling inspired. I like to listen to new songs and music videos to get ideas for my abstract-type videos I like to create. I also like to watch movies when I start feeling uncreative. I don't watch many movies, but when I do it really helps me feel more creative and motivated to start on a new project.
Getting out of that creative funk isn't easy, but with these easy tips it can really help inspire you out of one. Creative blocks can happen by not doing much, or for over-doing projects. Keeping your life as stress free as possible will help with your physical and mental health.

WEEK 6: Editing Tips
Working as a Pocketnest intern week 6: July 20th-July 26th: Only 3 more weeks left until my time as an intern comes to an end. I am so grateful to have this amazing opportunity. Here are some editing tips and tricks I found useful when editing a video that is a little bit outside of your comfort zone. Making a voiceover A challenge I encountered this week, was having to create a voiceover. This voiceover is supposed to go over graphic motion images for the in-app video. Creating a voiceover may seem innocent, but once you start, you realize how hard it actually is to create an engaging voiceover. Here are my tips on creating a voiceover. 1. Record on a good mic Investing in a decent mic is key to creating a professional voiceover. I bought mine off of amazon for $30, and it is easy to use. I like to record my voiceover on imovie, or my iphone. Then i like to replay it after it is done. Make sure not to stand too close to the mic, or it could sound muffled. 2.Keep going, don'
