WEEK 1: Introduction

Working as a Pocketnest Intern week 1: June 15th-June 21st    Pocketnest is a company that makes financial planning easier for people. The app is entirely free, and accessible.  I personally never used a financial planning app before, so this is a cool company to work with, considering I will be learning more than just the expected workload. I met with the founder Jessica Willis, as well as the other team members. I felt incredibly welcomed  and comfortable talking to them. I was very nervous to break out of my shell and talk to people. This is something I knew I would face during this internship, but something I am excited to work on and succeed. I was assigned 2 projects to start off with. One being a 30 second demo video to post on their website, and the other project involves video creation for the Pockenest app. Since this internship is currently held remotely, all videos must be done using graphics. WEEK 3: Expectations

Working as a Pocketnest Intern week 3: June 29-July 5th          A challenge I faced this week was considering many suggestions, and trying to accommodate each and every one of them. Working as an intern, it is hard to distinguish what I can or can't do right off the bat. This is why I believe I am going back and forth with trying new ideas and trying to do exactly what the company I am working for wants me to do. I personally love hearing everyone's ideas and suggestions when I turn in my rough cuts. It makes me more creative, and opens up my perspective.      I have been working on the same 50 second project for three whole weeks. Editing takes awhile, and it isn't the most easy task to do in the world. It takes a lot of patience, and perfecting. The main reason why it has taken me longer than expected is because of how much revising I had to do. I would send in rough cut updates, and receive great feedback and suggestions to work off on. WEEK 8: Creative Funk

Working as a Pocketnest intern week 7: August 3rd-August 9th      Are you a creative, stuck in a creative funk? Here are some tips to get out of it, and ways to get inspired and motivated again.  Tip #1: Surround yourself with creatives     I feel that when I surround myself with creative people or I am in a creative environment, I feel more inspired. I think that looking at others creative ways of thinking, or their work can really help motivate you to do something of your own. Being in a creative environment or a brand new environment can also help.  Tip #2:Relax-Daydream     Relaxing or daydreaming can help create new thoughts. Being in a busy state of mind can really cause stress and create a barrier in creative thinking. I like to lay down and listen to music and just think. I also love long car rides where I can stare out the window for a long period of time and new thoughts come around.  Tip #3:Do something different in your routi...
